Elizabeth Beall: Passion Over Everything

The best word to describe Elizabeth is passionate. This NPC competitor’s attitude about life and fitness is positive, fun-loving, and downright contagious! Feel inspired by how she motivates herself to go the extra mile in all that she does!

What is your name?

Elizabeth Beall

What inspired you to get fit?

The desire to change…and knowing that I was the only one who could make it happen

What keeps you motivated to live the healthy life?

My mom - the most selfless, golden-hearted, Dunkin Donuts and gym addict, there has ever been or will ever be. She is what gives strength an entirely new meaning. She supported one of my first influencers when he told me to, "add a penny," meaning you are always capable of a little more push; maybe not an entire set of heavy squats, maybe not an extra 10 reps of lat pulldowns, but you can dang sure, "add a penny." I never knew how much three words could mean to me, but they have guided, supported, and encouraged me in more ways imaginable.

Find out what motivates YOU to accomplish your penny. For me, it's the feeling of accomplishment that I get after I rack the heaviest weight I've ever squatted, it's the blisters I peel after deadlifts, it's the smiling faces I see when I walk into the gym, it's my mom’s inspiration, it's the few extra pennies added, it's my own ever-changing body that only I am in control of; it's my passion.

Describe yourself in three words:

Passionate, motivated, energetic/happy

How do you balance life, work, training and family?

It’s just one big melting pot for me...I lead a happy, fit life with my real family, my gym family, and my real-world family, those people being all the ones I help or help me, and train or train me along the way.

What is your favorite body part to exercise and why?

Legs. Hands-down. My legs stay surprising me! No matter how dead my legs wake up feeling, no matter how much I'd rather roll around that day than walk, my legs somehow still manage to push weight that I'd be nervous to lift...even on a good day!

If you had to pick three key exercises - what would they be and why?

Deadlifts - all around body-killer and sculptor. From the way you grip the bar and straighten your back, to the way you squeeze every muscle imaginable to lift the bar... every muscle group is being exerted: your back, shoulders and rear delts, hamstrings and glutes, quads and calves. It gets ‘em all!

TRX - I LOVE doing abs on the hanging TRX straps. It forces you to balance, therefore exerting more force on your abs, as well as forcing you to stay tight and squeeze the entire time. I switch it up with this a lot: V-abs, mountain climbers, in-n-outs, etc. So fun!

Lat pulldowns - best mind to muscle connection for me. I enjoy practicing the discipline of keeping my shoulders down and the weight focused in one area. Also, I like the options that pull downs give you: under or over hand grip, and narrow, normal, or wide grip.

What is your favorite cheat “treat”?

"Chocolate raspberry truffle two-scoop in a sugar cone" from Brusters...or an everything bagel toasted with bacon, egg, cheese, and cream cheese. Mhm double cheese :)

What do you think is the biggest misconception about women in fitness?

That we are "less capable because we train for the wrong reasons;" avoid the stereotypical behavior by going to the gym FOR the gym, don't get caught up in the mirrors and conversations.

What was the best part of wearing Affitnity? Did you love the clothing? Tell us why :)

Affitnity shorts are shorts that I look forward to wearing; whether that be for the color, the comfortability, or the fact that I don't have to worry about if I have a funky-shaped front area or a saggy lookin' behind…they’re my lil confidence boosters

Anything else you would like us to know?

I am an NPC bikini competitor, with an addiction to coffee and chocolate (sometimes together). I have a huge heart and passion for athletics, sports, and healthy lifestyles. You can find me in the gym with a big smile on my face for hours every single day. If I'm not in the gym, then I'm either heading there, just left, or dreaming about it. This is what I do. This is what I love. I want women, men, and all of social media and the world for that matter to see and understand the beauty and the sacrifice, in the best way possible, of leading a fit life. Whether you are purple with pink polka dots or green with two broken legs and yellow stripes, I want to help.
