Brittany Just: Balancing Twins & Bikinis

Nothing inspired Brittany to dive headfirst into the world of bikini competitions like having twins did! As chaotic as the world of motherhood, fitness, and business can get, Brittany has found the recipe for how to stay balanced, fit, and fun!

 

What is your name and age?

Brittany Just, 33 years old

What inspired you to get fit?

I have always been an athlete, but having twins did a number on my petite body!  I was inspired by Two-time WBFF World Bikini Champion, Lindsay Messina, who had the look I was after! I reached out to her in 2013, when my twins were just turning 2 looking for advice and direction.  She got me involved in my first Bikini competition in April 2014 with the WBFF and I've been hooked every since!

What keeps you motivated to live the healthy life?

I live a healthy lifestyle out of habit and to be a good role model for my twins! I have been able to make a living traveling the planet while showing others I can still live a healthy, balanced lifestyle.  That is where I became known as the fun and fitness buff!! We can all have fun and live fit simultaneously!

Describe yourself in three words:

Persistent, Consistent, Spontaneous

How do you balance life, work, training and family?

I find balance by prioritizing my life.  God comes first, then family, then health, and lastly pursuing current goals and and setting future goals. When I start to feel unbalanced it's because I have mixed up the order and I just have to remind myself what's most important to me.  

 

 

What is your favorite body part to exercise and why?

My favorite body part is my booty! I love to feel that burn and because it's one of the hardest body parts to grow, I like to give it the most attention!

What is your favorite cheat treat?

My favorite cheat treat has long been creamy nut butter! I now have found a way to allow myself to eat it without “cheating" by following the ketogenic diet, which is high fat, low carb.  

If you had to pick three key exercises - what would they be and why?

Glute Bridges, Curtsy lunges, and Step ups

What do you think is the biggest misconception about women in fitness?

The biggest misconception of women in fitness is the lack of balance we supposedly have to achieve our "dream body".  What works for one person doesn't always work for the next but when women focus on "getting healthy" instead of "losing weight", they find it to be a much easier transition into a long-term healthy lifestyle change!!

Wearing the Affinity clothing, I felt strong yet feminine. You work hard in the gym to look good in fashionable clothes, but you also want to look good IN your fashionable gym clothes!
